Factsglassx300
The latest statistics from the Florida Department of Employment Opportunity show that Escambia County added more 22 jobs in April 2015 than the county had in April 2014. Santa Rosa County added 106 jobs for the same period.

Escambia County’s unemployment rate improved dropping from 6.0 percent in April 2014 to 5.3 percent in April 2015. However, the labor force also dropped by 1,058 people – from 139,934 in April 2014 to 138,876 April 2015.

How did Governor Scott spin the report?

He said, “Our work to make Florida the most business-friendly state in the nation is paying off in Pensacola as 4,900 new jobs have been added over the year. Florida has seen positive job creation statewide with more than 865,600 private-sector jobs added across the state since December 2010.”
