Sea Turtle Baby Shower on June 4 [podcast]

The Pensacola Beach Advocates, Island Times, the Santa Rosa Island Authority and the Pensacola Beach Chamber of Commerce are hosting the annual Sea Turtle Baby Shower on Saturday, June 4, from 9 a.m. until noon at the Gulfside Pavilion on Pensacola Beach.

It’s free so load up the families and kick off your summer fun on beautiful Pensacola Beach as we educate visitors and locals about the nesting habits of sea turtles. Learn the “do’s and don’ts” and how we can help nesting sea turtles as they return home to our beaches this nesting season. Learn about the beach ecosystem and other animals who call the beach their home at this “hands on” sea turtle baby shower featuring 20 exhibitors.

Participants can watch Dan the Sand Man create a sand sculpture, hear a story from Mendy the Mermaid, participate in the Trash Dash, or collect seagrass with the Panhandle Manatees. Boogie Inc. will be entertaining us as well.

Want to be the 2022 Sea Turtle Queen? Make a $5 donation and register for a drawing to become the reigning Sea Turtle Queen. Win a beautiful Sea turtle tiara made by Ms. Thank Sheri Tigue of Nashville and meet the artist. Then ride in the Pensacola Beach Christmas Parade.
