At the Escambia County commissioners budget workshop today, Sheriff Ron McNesby submitted $85,870,017 budget for next year. His current budget is $75,858,215.
Sheriff’s Office $52,962,824Â – up $7,037,466 – 15%
Jail/Detention $31,019,263 – up $2,747,360 – 10%
Court Service $1,887,930 – up $226,976 – 14%
Total increase:Â $10,011,802 – 13%
This is the preliminary budget. According to those at the meeting, the ECSO is working to reduce this number. By law, the sheriff has to submit a certified budget document by May 1 and this was his first public draft.
