Sheriff Morgan names Haines Chief Deputy, promotes Yuhasz to commander

Escambia County Sheriff David Morgan has announced the promotion of Senior Commander Eric Haines to Chief Deputy effective July 20. Haines has been employed at the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office since April 1999 and has worked in Patrol, Training and Accreditation as well as having served as Captain of Uniformed Services.

Most recently, he has served as Administrative Commander and has been instrumental in negotiations concerning the budget and the transfer of the Escambia County Jail.

“The position of Chief Deputy is the most demanding assignment at the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office,” Sheriff Morgan said of the promotion,“I expect great things from Chief Haines.”

Sheriff Morgan also promoted Captain Tracy Yuhasz to Commander. Commander Yuhasz has been with the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office since March 1993. She will be in command of the Administrative Division.
