Sarasota County also is having a hotly contested sheriff’s race. Instead of fighting over video cameras, the candidates are actually talking about issues. Amazing!
There is no Deputy Rex Blackburn threatening to arrest anyone. Just an open discussion of the issues. The list of people that Blackburn has insulted or threatened in his efforts to keep his boss, Ron McNesby, elected grows every day. Under McNesby, he has risen to Lieutenant. Yet few really know what he does other than collect campaign checks and get deputies to put up campaign signs.
I have a “nice” Christmas card from Blackburn where he accuses me of being un-Christian and, worse, a liberal. It wishes me a “double Jesus” Christmas from Rex and Luke – which I assume is Luke McCoy.
