The Destination Archaeology Resource Center (DARC) and Ozone Pizza Pub are hosting Archaeology Café on Wednesday, April 3 at 6 p.m. Dr. John Bratten, associate professor of anthropology at the University of West Florida, will give a short presentation titled “From Olive Pits to Ribs: Conservation of Artifacts from Pensacola Shipwrecks†followed by an open discussion.
Archaeology Café is held inside Ozone Pizza. It is free and open to the community. Seating is unreserved. Guests are encouraged to support our hosts at Ozone’s by purchasing food and drinks. Ozone Pizza Pub is located at 1010 N 12th Ave. in Pensacola.
At Archaeology Café guests can order food, drinks, and listen to an archaeologist explain some of their discoveries in a casual and relaxed environment. No lecture halls; just interesting and inclusive conversation with experts in archaeology, one of the most fascinating scientific fields. Archaeology Cafe is inspired by the numerous Science Cafés that have gained enormous popularity in cities across Europe and the United States.
This event is hosted by the Florida Public Archaeology Network, University of West Florida Division of Anthropology and Archaeology, Destination Archaeology Resource Center, WGBH Science Unit and Ozone Pizza Pub.
