Silver Airways starts low cost flights to Jacksonville

Starting March 19, 2015, Silver Airways is launching nonstop service between Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) and Pensacola International Airport (PNS). The introductory fare is $69

The flights will operate on weekdays Monday through Friday with continuing service to/from Fort Lauderdale. The addition of this one-stop flight gives Pensacola travelers three direct flights to Fort Lauderdale every weekday with additional connection opportunities. From Jacksonville, Silver offers more nonstop flights to Fort Lauderdale than any other airline.

“Our new flights between Jacksonville and Pensacola are another example of our continued commitment to providing easy and convenient intra-state travel options for Florida residents and visitors,” said Silver Airways CEO Sami Teittinen. “We look forward to offering even more business and leisure travelers the convenience of flying over driving.”

“Over the last four years, my staff and I have really focused on developing our intra-Florida air service,” said Pensacola Mayor Ashton Hayward. “We’re excited that Silver Airways sees Pensacola’s value and is stepping up to meet the demand for business and leisure travel within Florida.”

“We’re very excited that Silver Airways is increasing their presence at JAX with this additional service to Pensacola,” Jacksonville Aviation Authority Executive Director/CEO Steve Grossman said. “The community’s continued support of Silver’s intra-state service is essential to ensure customers have greater access to more of Florida’s business and leisure destinations.”

To celebrate the new service, Silver Airways is offering introductory fares from $69* (one way, including taxes and fees) through 11:59 pm EST on January 22 for travel between March 19, 2015 and May 22, 2015.
