Simplest response to Sandy Hook: More School Resource Officers

Rather than arming every school teacher, the simplest response to the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary is for Escambia and Santa Rosa school districts to add school resource officers (sworn deputies) to elementary school campuses.

The mayor of Orange County has already made this request of her school district. Her plan is to assign a deputy to serve as a school resource officer to each of the 60 elementary schools.

Note: It’s Orange County, Florida, not Orange Beach as reported earlier.
