Liberty Sertoma Announces Inaugural Slider Showdown
April 7 – 6 p.m. at Phineas Phoggs, Seville Quarter
Calling all backyard burger chefs and professionals alike! On April 7, at Phineas Phoggs in Seville Quarter, the members of Liberty Sertoma are hosting their inaugural Slider Showdown. Team registration is only $30 and is limited to three people. Admission to the public is only $10 to taste creations from some of the best cooks in Pensacola. Tickets will be available at the door or from any Liberty Sertoma member.
“The beauty of this competition is that a slider can be anything from beef, to pork, to seafood†said Jan Castillo, Slider Showdown chair. “The slider is a fun way to showcase a particular cuisine or technique.â€
A complete application along with the $30 registration fee must be submitted no later than March 31, 2017. First place and the coveted “People’s Choice†Award prizes will be awarded. Funds raised from this inaugural event will go to support hearing health issues in the community and other women’s issues that receive support from Liberty Sertoma.
