Stephen Sorrell, executive director of the Emerald Coast Utilities Authority, is a finalist to manage the nation’s largest desalination plant. The plant recently has passed a final round of testing and is now officially part of Tampa Bay Water’s regional water supply system.
There has been nothing in the local media about this…yet. Sorrell is one of five finalists to succeed Jerry Maxwell as Tampa Bay Water’s general manager. Maxwell is retiring Feb. 28 after 12 years leading the utility.
