Southeastern Teen Shakespeare Company offers a class for home school students

This spring, home school students can find out what it takes to put on a Shakespeare play in a class led by the director of the Southeastern Teen Shakespeare Company and in cooperation with the Pensacola Private School of Liberal Arts.

“We’re going to address everything that goes into producing a play,” said SETSCO director Michelle Hancock. “Students will have lessons in voice, speech, movement, stage combat, and Shakespeare’s language, and they will rehearse a 30-minute version of one of the plays for performance at the end of the class in March.”

The play will be chosen by the students, and the performance will be given during the SOLA Spring Fling celebration on March 14. Students ages 12-17 can register for the 8-week class. Complete information is available on the SETSCO website at http://setsco.org/classes.html

The Southeastern Teen Shakespeare Company is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing teens in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties with instruction and performance opportunities that lead to their significant growth as artists, community members, and human beings.
