I spoke with Escambia County Supervisor of Elections David Stafford on whether or not special election would be necessary to fill the State House District 4 seat that has been vacated Ray Sansom. Governor Charlie Crist and the Secretary of State will make the call, but it appears that since the resignation occurred before the session a special election is necessary.
We expect to receive final word from Tallahassee later today. The election could be as soon as two weeks, but the primaries will more than likely be a month from now and the special election two weeks later.
