Special favors for Ice Vending?

From a concerned Pensacola Beach resident:

Notice the appearance of the Beach causeway entrance has been enhanced with the relocation of an ice machine owned by a member of the downtown crowd.

Points of interest.
– The quantity of ice sold on the Beach is finite therefore adding one more “license” simply decreases the profits of existing businesses who bear large overhead burdens.
– The new machine location was granted to the owner without competitive bids.
– The location originally prohibited such activity (comprehensive plan), so the SRIA simply voted to rezone it and the County approved.
-This was done under the guise of ratifying the property’s past improper use for parking.
-SRIA says more parking is needed yet they give up two spaces for an unneeded ice machine
