Split Florida

WEAR TV 3 reports Margate Mayor Pam Donovan and North Lauderdale Mayor Jack Brady want to make North and South Florida into two separate states. They say the southern part of the state is carrying the largest tax burden, but getting back much less in services and political priorities. It would take an act of congress to make Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale-Broward, Miami Dade And Florida Keys-Monroe counties the nation’s 51st state. The mayors admit that’s a long shot, but a sampling of opinion of citizens on the street shows the idea has some support.

I say let’s ask Alabama to annex us – Pensacola, AL?
