âStetsons and Stilettosâ –the popular Cattle Barons fundraiser of the American Cancer Society, is Friday, July 20 at New World Landing in downtown Pensacola.
Laura S. Kaiser, president and chief executive officer of Sacred Heart Health System, and Dr. Thomas Sunnenberg, a medical oncologist with Sacred Heart Medical Oncology Group have been named as the co-chairs of the 2011 Cattle Baronsâ Ball. In addition, Dr. Thomas Patton, a medical oncologist with Baptist Medical Group, will serve as vice-chair of the event.
âIt is an honor to serve as the one of the co-chairs for an event that benefits the thousands of cancer patients and survivors in our community,â said Kaiser. âWorking in a busy healthcare industry, I am able to see every day the difference the American Cancer Society makes in the lives of our patients.â
Dr. Sunnenberg, a leading cancer specialist in Northwest Florida, echoed Kaiserâs sentiments. âThe American Cancer Society â especially our local chapter â has provided a tremendous amount of support to my patients and has been the leader in the fight against cancer through education and funding for research,â said Sunnenberg.
Since its inaugural event in 2001, the American Cancer Society Cattle Baronsâ Ball of Pensacola has raised over $1 million that has gone towards eliminating cancer through research, education, advocacy and patient services.
