ST Engineering, City Announce Five Mayor’s Scholarship Winners from Booker T. Washington Aviation Academy

Five graduates from Booker T. Washington High School’s Aviation Maintenance Career Academy have been named recipients of the Pensacola Mayor’s Scholarship, splitting $12,500 in awards funded by ST Engineering. The recipients are Tyson Tang, Vincent Pearson, Brent Nolan, Dylan Law, and Shayleigh Diamond.

A Partnership Built on Workforce Development

Established in 2019, the Mayor’s Scholarship is a cornerstone of the City of Pensacola’s partnership with ST Engineering, designed to grow the Northwest Florida aviation workforce pipeline from the ground up. The scholarship supports graduating seniors who plan to pursue careers in aviation.

Since its inception in 2019, ST Engineering has donated more than $100,000 in scholarships to local students.

Mayor D.C. Reeves highlighted the broader economic significance of ST Engineering’s local commitment.

“ST Engineering is on track to become one of our largest private-sector employers, and their continued commitment to education, workforce development, and career advancement is a tremendous opportunity for our young people,” Reeves said. “I’m grateful for their investment in our community and in the lives of these students.”

Darryl Seow, Senior Vice President and Head of Airframe Services at ST Engineering, framed the scholarships as part of a long-term regional commitment.
