Few press releases from ST Engineering are easy to comprehend, but their ad agency offered three key points:
- In efforts to further enhance its competitiveness, VT MAE will progressively rationalize its Mobile, Alabama operations and transition its MRO activities to other facilities in its network.
- The company will provide all the necessary support to its employees and work closely with the local communities to ensure a smooth transition.
- The process is estimated to take place over the next few months.

After more than three decades of operations in Mobile, Ala., VT Mobile Aerospace Engineering (VT MAE) is packing up shop and redistributing its operations to Pensacola and San Antonio.
VT MAE’s general manager Alvin Bass offered the standard corporate farewell: “We are grateful for the support and successful history we have had in Mobile for more than 30 years, and we deeply value our long-standing relationship with the Mobile community.”
Bass insists this wasn’t a snap decision, saying it “was made after we had gone through a long and careful consideration of multiple factors and options.”
