Stephanie George gets sentence commuted by Obama

Pensacola native Stephanie George was sentenced in 1997 to a mandatory life sentence when police found drugs in a lockbox in her attic. The drugs were her ex-boyfriend’s who testified against her and got out of jail six years ago. The New York Times wrote about her case. Read more.

Today President Barack Obama commuted her prison sentence to expire on April 17, 2014.
