Studer Institute hires PYP exec

The Studer Institute announced today that Rachael Gillette will become its Director of Professional Development, effective Feb. 2.

Gillette, former executive director for Pensacola Young Professionals, has worked in not-for-profit organizations in the Pensacola area for eight years. Prior to her not-for-profit work, the Keele University graduate, received her Bachelor of Arts in Law and American Studies and practiced law in England, as a Barrister, for over nine years.

She also coordinated the Studer Institute’s “Strategic Planning for Small Businesses and Not-For-Profits” seminar this past November.

“It became apparent last year that the Institute can be a key part of citizen powered change through community metrics and research, and the communication of these materials,” says Quint Studer, founder of the Studer Institute. “What came up beyond expectations was the hunger for professional development, ranging from board development, to strategic planning, to an array of leadership skills.”

From this, the Studer Institute has hosted two seminars geared toward professional development, “Leadership in the Workplace” and “Strategic Planning for Small Businesses and Not-For-Profits” both held in Fall of 2014.

“Our goal is to help create better organizations and improve results and the new role of Director of Professional Development for the Studer Institute is a natural progression to get us there,” says Gillette. “I am passionate about making a difference in our community and this role will align perfectly with that.”

The Studer Institute is already planning, says Gillette, to provide online resources as well as more workshops and trainings.
