WSRE, PBS for the Gulf Coast, has moved the taping of “StudioAmped” from spring to fall. Now the free Amos Studio concert series is happening around the Pensacola Beach Songwriters Festival with nine performances scheduled at 7 p.m. on weeknights from Sept. 28 to Oct. 5.

Approaching Season 8, “StudioAmped” showcases the original music of regional artists, and the concerts are recorded for future television broadcast. The public is welcome, free of charge, to fill the studio audience for each live recording; however, donations for MANNA Food Pantries are appreciated.

WSRE and the Pensacola Beach Songwriters Festival have partnered for five years to produce an annual Songwriters Festival special edition of “StudioAmped.” This year’s special will be performed on Friday, Oct. 2 by Nashville singer/songwriters Jim Femino, Brian White and Nicole Johnson.

Femino is a comedian and author, also Grammy-nominated for his 2008 Billboard Country Song of the Year, “Just Got Started Lovin’ You” for James Otto. White has 14 No. 1 songs as well as two Dove Awards and wrote Billboard’s most played country song of 2007, “Watching You” for Rodney Adkins. Johnson competed on the “The Voice” in 2012 and has co-written more than 500 songs with top Nashville writers.

The full schedule for the new season of “StudioAmped”—so far, The Wide Open, Whyte Caps, Bear With Me, Post Pluto, The Mosleys, John Hart Project and Melissa Joiner are anticipated—will soon be announced upon finalization of contracts.

“‘StudioAmped’ is about supporting local musicians and sharing their original work with the broader community,” said Harrell. “We have a great schedule this year and hope local music fans will come out to the Amos and help WSRE produce our musical programs.”
