Summit Blvd Feasibility Study set for May 16

The City of Pensacola is hosting a public workshop on Tuesday, May 16 to gather input from the community about the Summit Boulevard Lane Repurposing Feasibility Study, as the city begins to explore options for potential lane repurposing on Summit Boulevard.

The workshop will take place from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Vickrey Resource Center, located at 2130 Summit Blvd. All members of the community are encouraged to come learn more about the feasibility study and provide their input.

The City of Pensacola is completing a lane repurposing feasibility study of Summit Boulevard from North 12th Avenue to Spanish Trail. The purpose of the study is to evaluate a lane repurposing and its impact on bicyclists, pedestrians, and motor vehicles.

A lane repurposing study looks at the feasibility of reassigning roadway space to achieve other purposes such as economic development, safety and mobility for all users.

There is currently no funding set aside for design or construction, but the city is exploring options for Summit Boulevard based on the community’s wants and needs.

The purpose of the meeting is to present roadway data analysis, conceptual roadway graphics, and collect public input. For questions, please contact City of Pensacola Transportation Planner Caitlin Cerame at ccerame@cityofpensacola.com.
