SWAT stand-off ends in arrest

Press Release: On November 6th, 2011, Escambia County Deputies responded to the 5500 Block of Charbar Drive in Pensacola in reference to a suicide threats call. The suspect, Richard Howard, 21, of Pensacola, then barricade himself inside his house resulting in a SWAT activation. During the course of the stand-off, Howard fired rounds at deputies on scene.

After 16 hours of negations, Howard was taken into custody with the assistance of the Pensacola Police Department SWAT Team without further incident. Howard was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
