Florida TaxWatch to Releases Analysis, Recommendations on Improving
Escambia County Government

PENSACOLA – The Florida TaxWatch Center for Local Government Studies will release the results of its analysis of Escambia County government, Improving Transparency and Accountability in Escambia County Government, at a press conference in Pensacola on Friday, June 20, 2008. The study, which was requested and funded by a group of Escambia County citizens who were
concerned about escalating property taxes and the growing cost of county government, finds that revenue and spending increases since 2000 are “unsustainable.”

When: Friday, June 20, 2008 at 10:15 a.m.

Where: The New World Inn, Room 600 South, 600 S. Palafox St, downtown
Pensacola

Who: Dominic M. Calabro, President & CEO, Florida TaxWatch
Kaye Kendrick, Senior Vice President of Research, Florida TaxWatch

This analysis, based upon Escambia County’s historical spending practices and comparison of three comparable counties as well as the 67-county average for the State of Florida, is the follow up to the preliminary analysis released in February 2008. The full report will be available online on our homepage at www.FloridaTaxWatch.org beginning at noon on Friday, June 20,
