TDC votes to cut Childers’ admin fee

Escambia County Commissioner Jeff Bergosh is reporting on his blog that the Tourist Development Commission voted yesterday to cut the budgeted administrative fee – a flat 3% percent – that County Clerk Pam Childers charges the TDC, reducing it from $562,500 to $350,000.

According to Commissioner Bergosh, he asked Mike Davis from the Clerk’s office to tell the board how much it costs the clerk to manage these funds and support the TDC. Davis said “about $330,000”. Bergosh wrote on his blog, “So I took that number and asked if we budgeted $350,000 for the clerk’s administrative overhead–would that work? to which Mr. Davis agreed.”
