What if the most powerful ideas in Pensacola aren’t coming from somewhere else — they’re already here, waiting to be seen?
That’s the driving question behind TEDxPensacola 2026, which returns on May 23, at the Pensacola Little Theatre under the theme “Hidden in Plain Sight.” This one-day event promises to pull back the curtain on the talent, innovation, and community leadership already thriving in our backyard and give it the global stage it deserves.
A City Growing Faster Than Its Own Reputation
Pensacola has changed dramatically over the past decade. Growth in technology, healthcare, education, entrepreneurship and the arts has reshaped the region in ways that even longtime residents may not fully appreciate.
- “Hidden in Plain Sight” reflects a simple but powerful truth: meaningful research, creative leadership and community innovation are already happening in our neighborhoods, classrooms, laboratories, and small businesses. TEDxPensacola 2026 gives them a platform.
What to Expect
This year’s event will feature 15 to 20 speakers spanning technology, education, healthcare, entrepreneurship, the arts, and community leadership. Each talk will follow the signature TEDx format — short, focused, and designed to challenge how you think.
- A live audience of 300 to 400 attendees will fill the Pensacola Little Theatre, while students and professionals across the region will have access through a livestream hosted at universities and community locations. Experiences designed to encourage conversation and collaboration will extend beyond the stage, both inside the theater and out at Museum Plaza in Downtown Pensacola during Community Day activities later in the afternoon.
Built on Authentic Ideas — Not Paid Stages
There are no paid speaking slots, no self-promotion, and no shortcuts. Every speaker is chosen based on the strength of their idea and their ability to spark meaningful conversation. The entire event is volunteer-driven, locally curated, and rooted in partnerships with schools, arts organizations, and innovation hubs across the region.
- TEDxPensacola operates in partnership with Pillars of Promise, a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on elevating underserved voices and creating pathways for individuals and communities to grow and connect. Its officers are Dillard Trapp, Travell Davis and CareerSource Escarosa CEO Marcus McBride. All sponsorships and donations flow through Pillars of Promise, ensuring community impact that extends well beyond a single event.
The organizers are actively looking for volunteers, sponsors, community partners, and donors who believe in the power of local ideas. Whether you want to help build the event, support it financially, or simply show up and listen — there’s a place for you.
