On Nov. 16, Feeding the Gulf Coast along with Winn-Dixie (Southeastern Grocers) and Brownsville Assembly of God will distribute Thanksgiving meal essentials to individuals and families in need. The distribution is a first-come, first-served food distribution event at Brownsville Assembly of God Church, located at 3100 West De Soto Street in Pensacola beginning at 10 a.m., while supplies last.
“A traditional Thanksgiving meal provides a sense of relief and stability for so many families struggling to make ends meet this year,” says Michael Ledger, President and CEO of Feeding the Gulf Coast. “We are thankful for the opportunity to provide a way for families to celebrate the season and reduce some of the uncertainty this year has created for them. We are grateful for the donation of food from Winn-Dixie to make this happen.”
This distribution is one of several taking place throughout the next two weeks. In conjunction with community partners, Feeding the Gulf Coast is distributing nearly 200,000 lbs. of food to more than 7,000 families across the central Gulf Coast in preparation of Thanksgiving.
