Does the Escambia County Commission want to create the PEDA – Pensacola Economic Development Authority – or any government body to control and handle day-to-day operations of economic development in the county?

Commissioner Gene Valentino’s motion should be “I move that the Escambia County Commission create the PEDA to control and handle the day-to-day operations of economic development for Escambia County.”
Or
Commissioner Grover Robinson could make the motion: “I move that the Escambia County Commission not create any body or agency to control and handle the day-to-day operations of economic development for Escambia County.”
Once this decision is made, then incentives, funding sources and the roles of the PEDC, County Commission, Pensacola, Century and the Chamber can be decided.
