Escambia County has issued a list of organizations that have, to date, met the qualifications to participate in the selection of an environmental representative to sit on the county commission’s RESTORE Act advisory committee.

The following groups have been qualified, or are tentatively qualified pending further documentation: Bream Fishermen’s Association, Friends of Perdido Bay, Pensacola Archeological Society (tentative), Pensacola Big Game Fishing Club, Bayou Chico Association (tentative), Pensacola Beach Advocates, International Sustainable Boating Council, Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry, Gulf Coast Environmental Defense (tentative), and Earth Ethics (tentative).

The county is continuing to accept organizations through Jan. 14. Each qualifying organization will get one vote in the selection process.

A list of, thus far, accepted nominees has also been released: Dave Cambron, Charles Green, Dr. Gloria Horning, Bob Kriegel, Teresa Preston, Robin Rowan, Bob Stender, Christian Wagley and Phil Wooley.
