Here’s an update from Escambia County on the toll plaza construction project:
Today, May 16, one lane is closed on the Pensacola Beach Boulevard bridge until the foot of the roadway approaching the toll plaza and three toll plaza lanes are open to motorists.
Tomorrow, Friday, May 17, all bridge and toll plaza lanes will reopen to traffic at 12 p.m. throughout the weekend.
These traffic shifts are in conjunction with the various enhancement projects the Escambia County Public Works Department has begun. More than $430,000 in roadway improvements has been designed to improve traffic flow and address safety concerns for pedestrians.
