Too many elementary schools

The daily newspaper catches up with we have been talking about on the blog for awhile: school enrollments. The pdf of the actual number of pupils in each elementary school is very interesting. Remember in an earlier post I wrote that officials of the Okaloosa public school district – one of the best systems in the state – said the elementary schools with less than 600 students weren’t economically viable.

Well, Escambia County has 18 school with less than 600 pupils – Bibbs, Bratt, Brentwood, Carver, Edgewater, Ensley, Hallmark, Holm, Lincoln Park, Molino Park, Montclam, Navy Point, Semmes, Sherwood, Suter, Warrington, Wies and Ynestra.
