The alternative newsweekly NOW has listed the Top 10 Tech Trends of 2007. Apple’s iPhone, FaceBook and Web TV top the list. The iPhone is the latest status symbol in Pensacola. Long, long ago doctors were the only ones with pagers. Then pagers became common, and the car phone became the big deal. When mobile phones were no longer the size of small toaster, then personal cell phones were the rage, but some people still carried pagers (Why?).
This past year, Bluetooth swept thru Pensacola. You can walk thru the mall or even along Palafox and see dozens of people who appeared to be talking to themselves. In 2008, it will be the iPhone that we gradually see more and more.
