Top Reads: Week ended June 28. 2025

This week of June is usually slow; few big stories happened from last June until after the Pensacola Beach Blue Angels Show. The Escambia County Commission and Pensacola City Council take a break, readers have vacation plans, and our staff prepares for the Best of the Coast issues in August. For the blog and newspaper, these weeks offer us an opportunity to look at our topics, which we did this past week.

Galvez Landing garnered attention. Residents have begun to wonder why Commissioner Steve Stroberger ditched a plan to add more public beach access on Perdido Key for expansion of boat launched that former Commissioner Doug Underhill championed five years ago. Stroberger will need to answer those concerns at his town hall on Monday, June 30.
