1. Hospital Safety Scores: Ascension Sacred Heart – A; HCA Florida West – B; Baptist declines to report
Sacred Heart earned an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade from the Leapfrog Group, an independent national watchdog organization. HCA West Florida earned a “B,” and Baptist a “C.”

2. Mayor Reeves: Grant will ‘improve the overall ecological health’ of Bayou Texar
For the past two months, the City of Pensacola has received grants totaling $5.95 million for the Carpenter Creek Bayou Texar Outfalls Project.

3. New Pensacola airport parking opened today
Pensacola International Airport opened a new Long-Term Parking lot on Tippin Avenue this morning. The paved lot has lighting and offers 435 parking spaces.

4. Opioid Advisory allocates $2.2 million
The Opioid Abatement Funding Advisory Board approved $2,221,219 for five substance abuse treatment programs, including $755,000 for Ministry Village at Olive.

5. Breaking: Dr. Ken Ford steps down as IHMC CEO
After more than 34 years under the leadership of founder Dr. Ken Ford, IHMC will see a new senior leadership team. Ford will step into an emeritus role.
