Tourist Development Tax collections dip slightly in October

The Tourist Development Tax (TDT) Collections Data for the September 2024 returns received in October 2024 show a 3% decrease from the same month last year.

• Total collections received in October 2024 were $1,661,188 compared to $1,718,649 in October 2023.

Pensacola Beach remains the most prominent collector of bed taxes, $732,063, but its collections were down 13% – $109,213. The areas with the most significant increases in collections were downtown Pensacola (33.3%, $33,598) and North Escambia/Northwest Pensacola (32%, $30,308).

The Breakdown of Collections by Area:

Pensacola Beach: 44%
Perdido Key: 20%
Southeast Pensacola: 12%
Downtown Pensacola: 8%
North Escambia & Northwest Pensacola: 8%
Northeast Pensacola: 5%
Southcentral & Southwest Pensacola: 3%

The County Clerk’s office was paid $51,559 (3%) for handling the collections.
