From Ann Hill Campaign:
Ann Hill, candidate for Pensacola City Council District 6, will host a free community Town Hall: “Let’s talk about homelessness.†Panelists from the Pensacola Police Department, ACLU, Downtown Improvement Board, Greater Pensacola Chamber of Commerce, Gulf Coast African-American Chamber of Commerce, Pensacola Interfaith Justice Ministry, EscaRosa Coalition on the Homeless (Opening Doors), Alfred-Washburn Center, Waterfront Mission and Loaves and Fishes, have been invited to answer your questions about panhandling and homelessness. Reverend Tellis, Pastor for Allen Chapel AME, will moderate the forum. Candidates for office are invited to attend, and give a brief introduction to the audience. Citizens and business owners from all districts are welcome, and encouraged to ask questions of the experts.
“Since announcing my candidacy for City Council, I’ve realized that the issue of panhandling and homelessness continues to be a heated topic that divides Pensacola. I am committed to facilitating this much-needed discussion between business owners, legal experts, the police department, service providers and social justice advocates to find a common ground by which we will hopefully unite everyone with solutions,†said Ann Hill. “I want businesses in all districts to continue to thrive, and to identify a strategy that is effective and will not cost taxpayers thousands of dollars in lawsuits, as we have seen in the past administration.â€
