While Pensacola Mayor Ashton Hayward has not held a town hall meeting in nearly three years, other city officials have continued to meet with city voters on issues.
City Councilwoman Sherri Myers will hold a Town Hall meeting regarding Carpenter Creek and Bayou Texar.
The Town Hall meeting is at 6:30pm, Cokesbury United Methodist Church, located at 5725 N. 9th Ave.
The focus of the meeting is to address the restoration of Carpenter Creek and Bayou Texar. Carpenter Creek is listed by the EPA as an impaired body of water.
The Carpenter Creek/Bayou Texar project submitted by the West Florida Regional Planning Council is one of the highest ranked projects by the Escambia County Restore Advisory Committee.
County Commissioner Grover Robinson has chosen the Carpenter Creek/Bayou Texar project as one of the projects he has submitted to the Board of County Commissioner for approval of Restore funding.
All property owners along Carpenter Creek and Bayou Texar are urged to attend the meeting. All concerned citizens, residents and environmental groups are urged to attend the meeting to express their concerns about the current conditions of Carpenter Creek and Bayou Texar, as well as to offer strategies and solution to restoring these natural resources.
Commissioner Grover Robinson, staff of the West Florida Regional Planning Council and Laurie Murphy from the Emerald Coastkeepers will be present to provide information regarding strategies for restoring Carpenter Creek and Bayou Texar.
