We have three Escambia County commissioners who don’t want to bail out Baptist Health Care and use taxpayers’ dollars to clean the hospital’s “legacy campus” that it abandoned two years ago. We have Commissioner Lumon May who wants to hold he Baptist executives accountable for promising to leave health care in the West Moreno District.
Then we have Mayor D.C. Reeves that cannot let the old campus become a black hole on the city’s west side, dragging down property values.
Will they reach an agreement on Thursday?
