‘Positive Aging, Proactive Planning, Purposeful Living’

Location: Gadsden Street United Methodist Church, 901 E. Gadsden Street, Pensacola
Details: Dr. Rodney Guttmann, Director of UWF Center on Aging will speak at 11 a.m. on “Successful Aging.” There will be area providers of services & opportunities for seniors, such as the Fire Department’s Safety Programs, Police Department’s “Take Me Home” Program, Alzheimer’s & Related Diseases Information, Educational Opportunities and more.

Pen Air Federal Credit Union Gift Announcement

Details: Pen Air Federal Credit Union has pledged $100,000 to support the University of West Florida College of Business. The gift will establish the Pen Air Federal Credit Union Betty M. Petree Endowment for scholarships and program support for College of Business students. Additionally, the Pen Air Federal Credit Union Financial Literacy Boot Camp for UWF students will be created.

Details: The UWF College of Business Executive Mentor Program will present, “What They Didn’t Tell You in the Interview” by: Susan Rollwagen, Manager of Organization Development and Effectiveness at Cox Communications. Every job has aspects they never mention in the interview. Even if you ask great questions, there are always discoveries – after you sign the offer letter: some good, some questionable. Join our interactive dialogue about some of the more common and career impacting of these revelations. Most critical are the next steps you take after finding these surprises. Discover ways to handle aspects of your new job no one usually mentions in the interview process. Free headshots will be taken beginning at 3 p.m.

Inclusion Series Spotlight: Honorable Beverly Zimmern

Details: UWF alumna Honorable Beverly Zimmern, Mayor of Gulf Breeze, will be our featured speaker during the next Inclusion Series Spotlight. Mayor Zimmern is the first female mayor of Gulf Breeze and oversees a $17 million municipal budget. Join us as Mayor Zimmern shares her lived experiences and unique perspective on inclusion. Admission is free. Light refreshments will be served.
