Title: UWF Artificial Intelligence Research Group presents Dr. Kenneth Ford

Details: The University of West Florida Artificial Intelligence Research Group (AIRG) will host Dr. Kenneth Ford, founder and chief executive officer of the Florida Institute for Human & Machine Cognition (IHMC), in the UWF Pensacola Campus’ Science and Engineering Building. Auditorium. His talk is titled, “Toward Cognitive Orthotics: A Human-Centered Future for AI.”

Title: Tim Eriksen: Hardcore Americana
Date: March 24
Time: 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Location: Old Christ Church, 405 S. Adams St.
Details: Tim Eriksen, Ethnomusicologist specializing in early American music, will be performing “Hardcore Americana” to commemorate the rich musical heritage of Florida and our nation. Title: Experience UWF Downtown: Lecture Series with Sebastian Junger

Location: Museum of Commerce, 15 E. Zarragossa St.
Details: Join Sebastian Junger, award-winning journalist and internationally acclaimed author, best known for “The Perfect Storm”, during March’s Experience UWF Downtown Lecture Series. Junger will be presenting “The Front Lines of History: Twenty Years of Reporting From Around the World.” This event is free and open to the public with hospitality from 5:30 to 6 p.m. and the following lecture from 6 to 7 p.m.

Title: Andrew Jackson’s Playbook: 15 Strategies for Success

Location: Historic Pensacola Campus, Voices of Pensacola presented by Gulf Power
Details: New Orleans author Morgan Molthrop will discuss his new book, Andrew Jackson’s Playbook: 15 Strategies for Success on Thursday, March 26 at 5:30 p.m. in the Voices of Pensacola Multicultural Center. Refreshments will be served.

Title: 2015 Honors Convocation
Date: March 27
Time: 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Location: UWF Pensacola Campus, University Commons
Details: Honors Convocations is an annual celebration where faculty and students are recognized for their distinguished academic achievements. It is one of the University’s most important academic traditions. Classes on this day are canceled from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to allow students to attend the ceremonies.
