Take Back the Night
Date: Wednesday, April 2
Time: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Location: UWF Commons Auditorium, Building 22
Details: Take part in the 15th annual Take Back the Night, an international event intended to educate, protest and bring awareness to violence. Throughout its history, Take Back the Night has inspired both women and men to confront social ills; including rape, sexual violence, domestic violence, violence against children and violence against women. The unifying theme throughout these diverse topics is the assertion that all human beings have the right to be free from violence, the right to be heard and the right to reclaim those rights if they are violated. This year, the event will showcase “Creativity for a Cause” winners, hear from survivors and hold a campus march.

Details: RadioLive is a two-hour, monthly acoustic music concert presented by WUWF 88.1 FM live on the first Thursday of every month. A listing of the current month’s performers can be found on the WUWF Public Media website. Visitors are encouraged to bring a donation of non-perishable food for Manna Food Pantries

UWF BEI East Campus Restaurant Development Ground Breaking Ceremony

Details: UWF BEI will host a ground-breaking ceremony for the East Campus Restaurant Development Site on Friday, April 4. UWF BEI has identified potential development opportunities for mixed-use restaurant and retail facilities on East Campus to offer a unique, vibrant atmosphere that will attract current and prospective students, faculty and staff as well as residents and visitors of Northwest Florida. The project is being developed in collaboration with Compass/Chartwells, the University’s Dining Services provider.

2014 Honors Convocation
Date: Friday, April 4
Time: 11 a.m.
Location: UWF Conference Center, Building 22
Details: The University of West Florida will host the annual Honors Convocation awards ceremony for students and faculty members on April 4. Winners will include faculty members who have demonstrated superior teaching, research or leadership qualities and are chosen based on nominations and evaluations. Student winners demonstrate leadership, positive impact or excellent grades.

Festival on the Green

Date: Friday, April 4 and Saturday, April 5
Time: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Location: UWF Pensacola Campus
Details: Join UWF for the 2014 Festival On the Green at the University of West Florida, Friday, April 4 and Saturday, April 5. This year’s festival will feature 20 venues including: Green Trading Post; Motorcycle Enthusiast show; Time Portals to the Past and Future; Model A Ford Car Show; International Village; NCAA baseball, softball and tennis matches; Fine Arts Show, Crafts Show; Dog Agility and Flyball; medieval village; Children’s Fair; Book Sale; Student Life Expo; and Festival Dining.
