In celebration of Military Appreciation Month, the USO of Northwest Florida aboard NAS Pensacola is hosting a Crawfish Boil on Memorial Day, May 26, 2014 for our local service men and women. The organization is anticipating 300 people to attend this authentic, Louisiana-style event complete with all the fixings, live entertainment and activities all day long.

“Pensacola is so proud of our military service members, and I’m humbled by everything they and their families do for both our country and this community,” said Mayor Ashton Hayward. “With the help of our great USO, we try to give back to them every day, but Memorial Day is a great opportunity to do something special.”

According to USO Northwest Florida Director Heidi Blair, the center at NAS, one of 160 centers worldwide, appreciates the military every day, 365 days a year. “Our focus this month is aimed to really emphasize to the community that there is such a thing as Military Appreciation Month,” said Blair. She also explained that this community wholeheartedly embraces our military personnel in whatever the USO does for our troops.
