UWF announces new alumni board

Press release: The University of West Florida Alumni Association recently announced its 2015-2016 National Alumni Board of Directors. The Board consists of 11 members: Joel Balistreri ’98, Brett Barrow ’87, Jeff Bedenbaugh ’92 & ’02, Sonya Daniel ’14, Jennifer Hammond ’93 & ’95, Stephen Hester ’91, Kristie Kelley ’98 & ’99, Paul Pratofiorito ’81, Luke van Blaricom ’02 & ’03, Jay Windham ’01 and Harriett Wyer ’92.

The 2015-2016 officers include Barrow, president; Wyer, vice president; Daniel, secretary; Pratofiorito, treasurer; and van Blaricom, past president.

“I am honored and very excited to lead the new Board,” said Barrow. “This is a historic time for our University. Many exciting events are taking place that can serve as rallying points for our alumni base.

“The inaugural season of the football program, the 50-year anniversary celebration, the new Center for Entrepreneurship, the growth of the University’s downtown presence through the UWF Historic Trust properties, and the excitement around the revitalization of downtown Pensacola are all examples of events the new board plans to leverage to reach record levels of alumni engagement and strengthen its brand.”

“We encourage all current students and alumni to get involved and join us in this exciting time,” said Barrow.

The mission of the University of West Florida Alumni Association is to support the advancement of UWF by engaging alumni, building a culture of philanthropy and being advocates for the University.
