The University of West Florida is hosting free virtual community courses featuring leaders from Pensacola’s Black community as part of its “Race and the Community: Past, Present, and Our Future†series. The opening session, “A Black People’s History of Pensacola,†is at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 1, and features TenÃadé Broughton, president of the John Sunday Society.
The five sessions are at 6 p.m. each Thursday, and Black leaders will explore a range of topics including racial justice, activism, history, media and art. Please register here for access and let me know if you have any questions or would like me to arrange interviews for you.
