Title: The Shifting Ground Film Series, Part II
Date: March 3

Location: UWF Pensacola Campus, University Commons
Details: In the last part of our series we are showing the movie “A Time for Justice: America’s Civil Rights Movement.†This four-time Academy Award winning documentary captures the spirit of the civil rights movement through historical footage and the voices of some of those who participated in the struggle.
Title: “The Archaeology of Qumran and the Dead Sea Scrolls†Lecture with Dr. Jodi Magness

Location: UWF Pensacola Campus, Center for Fine and Performing Arts
Details: Dr. Jodi Magness of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill will deliver a presentation entitled, “The Archaeology of Qumran and the Dead Sea Scrolls.” Dr. Magness specializes in the archaeology of ancient Palestine (modern Israel, Jordan and the Palestinian territories) in the Roman, Byzantine and early Islamic periods. Her research interests include Jerusalem, Qumran and the Dead Sea Scrolls, ancient synagogues, Masada, the Roman army in the East and ancient pottery.
