There is rumble from the Escambia County Office Complex that current commission chairman Gene Valentino may not keep the chairmanship.
The dispute appears to be over economic development and Valentino’s struggle with the Pensacola Bay Area Chamber of Commerce over who should take lead on finding new businesses and on job creation.
Valentino has little time to mend fences with his fellow commissioners, although settling his disagreements with the Chamber could go a long way to patching things up. If Valentino doesn’t succeed, Marie Young could be the new commission chair.
