Escambia County Commissioner Gene Valentino wants to be Rick Scott’s Lt. Governor, and his prospects were discussed and joked about by courthouse insiders.
Valentino will have competition for the post.
Sen. Anitere Flores,R-Miami, is considered a frontrunner by south Florida Republicans, according to SaintPetersBlog. Ellyn Bogdanoff , a former state senator from West Palm Beach area who lost her seat in the redistricting, is also seen as possibility by The Broward Beat, The Crowley Report, and Sunshine State News. Rep. Dana Young from the Tampa area has also been mentioned.
My dark horse is Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Ft. Walton Beach–son of Senate President Don Gaetz, young, energetic and a favorite of the Tea Party.
