There is a video on YouTube asking voters to pressure the local state legislators to place the Consolidation Plan on the ballot next fall. It’s mantra – “Tell your lawmakers you want better government.” Great – but who got to decide what that “better” government will look like?
It wasn’t the public.
Change is needed at the county level and we need to reduce the duplication of departments. But we don’t know if this plan will do that. The “devil” is always in the details and the details of this final plan that they want the voters to approve has not been fully studied, explained and debated in a public forum.
