Visit Pensacola has officially opened nominations for the annual Hospitality Hero Awards, coinciding with National Travel and Tourism Week (May 4-10). This celebration honors those who elevate Pensacola’s tourism experience through their exceptional service and dedication.
- Tourism remains a powerful economic force in Escambia County, generating an impressive $2.01 billion in economic impact and supporting over 18,000 jobs in FY 2024. The Hospitality Hero Awards shine a spotlight on the frontline workers who make these numbers possible.
What Makes a Hospitality Hero?
A true Hospitality Hero goes beyond standard service expectations, creating memorable experiences that keep visitors returning to our Gulf Coast destination. These individuals embody the warm, welcoming spirit of Pensacola while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and care.
- Heroes can be found throughout the tourism ecosystem – from hotel staff and restaurant servers to tour guides and attraction employees. Problem-solvers that recommend the perfect local restaurant, solve unexpected problems, or simply make visitors feel at home in our community.
Nomination Process and Rewards
Both residents and visitors have the opportunity to nominate outstanding employees across all tourism-related businesses, including:
- Lodging establishments
- Restaurants and food service
- Attractions and entertainment venues
- Transportation services
- Retail and shopping destinations
Nominations must be submitted by April 25, through Visit Pensacola’s online portal. Four exceptional individuals will be selected as winners and honored during a special Hospitality Hero Awards Luncheon on May 8.
- Each winner will receive not only community recognition but also a substantial $500 cash award – a meaningful acknowledgment of their invaluable contributions to Pensacola’s tourism industry.
Why Hospitality Matters: Visit Pensacola recognizes that while our natural and cultural attractions draw visitors initially, it’s the human connection provided by hospitality professionals that creates lasting impressions and drives tourism’s economic impact.
