Walton Commission audit sent to FDLE

State Attorney Ginger Madden issued a statement this morning that she has received and reviewed an official copy of an audit report completed by the Internal Audit department of the Walton County Clerk of Courts and County Comptroller’s Office. A copy of the audit report has been sent to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for investigation.

The audit found Walton County commissioners had used their county-issued credit cards for personal reasons and may have done so illegally in some instances. Over $40,000 in travel vouchers hadn’t been turned in.
