The Chicago Tribune is cutting back to just three sections: News, Life and Sports (Read more). PNJ could probably go with two, combining its tiny Sports section with the Life section. It appears the focus of the daily paper is the website and its tabloids – Pensacola Business Journal, Bella, Home & Garden, etc.
Strange times for daily newspapers. Making money has taken priority over new coverage. The Independent News could always use more advertising and we are up in revenue about 25%, but we start our day worrying about how are going to investigate this problem or cover this story.
